Wendy and SKitty
by ~TPStrawberryWendy sighed as she rode Slowpoke around the gym. She hadn't seen a
challenger in weeks. Arista was busy training in the mountains and Delma
had her hands full taking care of her garden. Luvdisc swam up to her
curiously and playfully splashed her with the gyms warm water.
Jigglypuff and Skitty rested against each other back on shore.
The gym was had a depression in the middle which had been flooded
with very warm water. Luvdisc was, after all, a very tropical lady and
only preferred the warmest seas. Slowpoke didn't much care whether the
water was warm or cold, as long as it was wet. The gym was mostly filled
with water, save for the small islands that jutted out in the middle.
These islands were where Wendy would often battle her friends. They were
just large enough for a trainer and a pair of pokemon to stand on and
perform their attacks.
Slowpoke was easy going and let Wendy ride him around the gym. His
favourite food was fresh fish and he and Wendy often shared tuna rolls for
lunch. Jigglypuff was soft and squishy and often accompanied Wendy to
karaoke nights. Skitty loves to sneak laps of Wendys strawberry milkshakes
at lunch time when she wasn't looking, or even when she was. Skitty was a
very cheeky little girl. She slept with Wendy in her bed and often took up
the better part of her throw pillow collection. Jigglypuff slept under the
bed curled up with her stuffed microphone amid the dust bunnies. Slowpoke
and Luvdisc preferred to stay in the water and hence lived at the gym most
of the time.
"That's it!" Wendy said, "I can't just sit around here and be bored all day.
I'm going to go visit Arista in the mountains." She returned to shore
and called for her Skitty. "Skitty," she said, "We are going on an
adventure to the mountains." Skitty purred in delight. Wendy exited the
gym and went back home to pack. She packed her satchel full of food and
supplies and mounted her bike, with Skitty riding in the front basket.
It would only be half a days ride up to Mount Starshine. She had been
there before. There was a lovely little pond near the mountain Arista
trained on and she had swam out to the shrine in the middle.
She rode the path from downtown and out into the forest. Halfway through she
encountered a Caterpie! Caterpie wouldn't be a problem for Skitty though.
Caterpie used String Shot!
Skittys Speed fell.
Skitty used Metronome.
Skitty used Flamethrower.
Caterpie fainted.
Skitty won the battle!
The battles through the forest were short and sweet, Skitty lost some
speed but never lost a battle. She was a feisty little thing, the
Skitty, not afraid of bugs or birds. She helped Wendy navigate her way
around the rocks and short trees until she arrived at the base of
the mountains.
The mountains were small ones, but they were rocky. Wendy broke off a long
branch off a short tree in the forest and made her way to the clearing
in front of the mountainous path. She hopped off her bike and walked it
along the trail. It wouldn't be long now until she reached the peak and
made her way down to where Arista was training. She made her way around
rocks and over small streams. Skitty stopped along the way to sniff at
flowery outcrops and carpeted mossy trees.
Finally Wendy had made it to Aristas base camp! There was the pond covered
in fog and a small tent set up near a campfire. It was nearly sunset
when she arrived. Arista was no where to be seen, where had she ran off
to with a fire unattended? Wendy heard a familiar cry and a Meowth ran
up to Skitty. It was Aristas! A small boat came through the red fog of
the pond. It was Arista! She had been at the shrine to pray for good
luck in battles and training. "What are you doing here Wendy?" Arista
asked. "I've come to see you! I miss you and my gym is empty." Wendy
replied. "Well don't worry, you can train here with me until I'm ready
to return to the city and then we can have a grand battle to celebrate
our return home!" Arista exclaimed. And so they trained together until
sunrise.
The end.
